In The Morning

Our private car and tour guide pick you up at your hotel in Dong Hoi (an-hour transport) or Phong Nha (30-minute transport).

09:00 AM

You take a boat trip along the Son River to Phong Nha Cave. During the cruise, you will enjoy pastoral scenes of paddies, local houses, and majestic limestone mountains here and there on the river banks.

09:30 AM

You arrive at Phong Nha Cave and start discovering it with our knowledgeable tour guide. He/she will inform you of the cave’s history, tell relative stories, and show you strange formation shapes, namely “Buddha,” “Royal Court,” “Lion,” and so on.

11:30 AM

You take a lunch break at a local restaurant, where you can taste local dishes, such as grilled chicken, native fish dishes, three-color sticky rice, etc.

In The Afternoon

After refilling enough energy for the afternoon, you will explore Dark Cave. The first activity is to kayak on the Chay River. Due to natural minerals from the caves, this spring possesses an enchanting turquoise water. You will row the kayak on beautiful water and enjoy the views.

01:30 PM

Next is the trip’s highlight, a journey to Dark Cave. You will put on your swimsuit, listen to a safety briefing, and be equipped with a helmet, head torch, and life vest. Then you follow the guide to the cave to discover its hidden gems—stalagmites and stalactites. Until you reach the natural mud lakes, you can dive into them and let your body be covered with nutritious minerals.

02:30 PM

At the end of Dark Cave is a way out to the Chay River. You will be immersed in the water to wash out the mud. Next, you have another hour to try ziplines and other water games.

03:30 PM

You return to the car, and our driver will drive you back to your hotel in Phong Nha (half an hour) or Dong Hoi (an hour).

Important Notes

Over 3 months pregnant women cannot join this tour for safety.
Ziplining is not allowed for children under 1.4 meters.
Dark Cave dress code is bikinis for women and shorts for men. It’s obligatory because long garments will take out more mud, which affects the natural mud amount.
What to bring: hats, sunscreen, sports footwear, swimsuits (for Dark Cave and Chay River), towels, personal water bottles (bottled water is also available in the car), cameras/smartphones, backup chargers, and waterproof bags for smartphones.
Phong Nha Cave can be replaced by Paradise Cave if you prefer. In this case, please note it in the booking.
